Lefkada (Lefkas)
Lefkas
(Lefkada) - cliffy coasts and wide sandy beaches.
Island Lefkas (Lefkada)
is part of the Ionian Islands and stretches over the west coast
of Greece.
It is a beautiful island with enchanting bays, varied coastal cliffs
and luxuriant vegetation. Moreover, the island offers traditional
mountain villages full of Greek charm which can hardly be found on any
of the other Ionian Islands.
Lefkas
lies about 100 kilometers to the south
of Corfu. The island is 30 kilometers long and 12 kilometers wide.
With respect to tourism, Lefkas is the least
developed island of the Ionian archipelago. Mountains,
which are up to 1.150 meters high, and
countless bays form a wild and at the same time very
romantic landscape, which in midsummer appears in shades of green.
Like most Ionian Islands, Lefkas is characterized by a steep coast in
the West and plain area in the East.

The name of the island derives from the
old Greek word for ‘white’ and corresponds to the color of its steep
coasts and mountainous scenery. There are mostly gravel beaches. What
makes Lefkas distinct is its landscape (mountains and sea) and climate
(sun from April till October), as well as favorable wind for sailors
and windsurfers. These are the reasons which make Lefkas an attractive
holiday resort for mountain-bikers, hikers and those in favor of water
sports.

Our Mountain
Guesthouse is situated in Dragano- right by
the enchanting beaches of Gialos, Egremni and Porto Katsiki.
